Ravens Beat Texans 20 to 13

The Baltimore Ravens remained undefeated at home during both the regular and post season this year. The Ravens also remained undefeated against the Houston Texans. This game was a little closer than the first one this year. The Texans continuously fed their star running back Arian Foster who ended up with 27 carries for 132 yards and a TD. Ray Rice was held to just 60 yards on 21 carries even though he got his opportunities.

The difference was that our quarterback Joe Flacco threw 2 TD passes and no interceptions and the young Texans QB threw no TD passes and 3 interceptions. The Ravens definitely need to improve in some areas but they did enough to win and hold onto the lead once they got it. The Ravens will have to go on the road to face an explosive New England Patriots offense led by Tom Brady.

The major area of concern for me is that the Ravens led the NFL in sacks but had no sacks today. We will definitely need a better pass rush when we play the New England Patriots next week.

Ravens Beat Bengals and Take Control of AFC North

The Baltimore Ravens went back to a more balanced attack at they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals today 31 to 24. The uses the proven winning formula of giving Ray Rice the ball. Ray Rice had 20 carries for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns. Going into this game, Joe Flacco had more passing attempts than Tom Brady this season.

Rookie CB Jimmy Smith intercepted his first NFL pass today. Ladarius Webb and Ed Reed also intercepted passes in the game. Ray Lewis did not play but was an emotional leader on the sidelines. The Ravens now are in first place in the AFC North and sit in the driver’s seat in the division.

The Ravens will play the 49ers Thursday night on Thanksgiving Day.

Who Gets the Blame for Ravens Loss to Seahawks?

I would like to hear your comments on who should get the blame for the Baltimore Ravens loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Here are some of the top nominees:

David Reed (Had 2 kick off return fumbles and idiotic penalty)
Cam Cameron (Questionable play calling passing 52 times in loud stadium on the road. Ray Rice had just 5 carries.)
Joe Flacco (Inaccurate passing, just hitting on 29 out of 52 passes and he threw a very costly interception.)
Billy Cundiff (Missed 2 valuable field goals. Can’t seem to hit any over 50 yards despite strong leg.)
Ravens Defense (Despite holding Seahawks to mostly field goals, the defense could not stop Seahawks from running out clock in final minutes.)

Post your comments!!!

Ravens Continue to be Inconsistent

The Baltimore Ravens loss again to another team with a losing record today. The Seattle Seahawks looked like the hungrier team by the way they played on the field. David Reed had a horrible day with 2 kick off return fumbles. It seemed like the Ravens abandoned their running game just like they did when they loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ray Rice had just 5 carries for 27 yds, while Joe Flacco threw the ball a whopping 52 times!

Cam Cameron may need to change his name to Air Cameron. Why didn’t we run the ball more on the road? The defense needs to get its rest, especially when the offense and special teams units turned the ball over and kept putting the defense in a bad position. Every time the Ravens have an opportunity to take over the AFC, they shoot themselves in the foot like Cheddar Bob in the movie 8 Mile.

Joe Flacco for President

Joe Flacco has won my vote for president by leading the Baltimore Ravens to 2 straight come from behind victories in the 4th quarter. The Ravens have swept the Pittsburgh Steelers during the regular season with their 23 to 20 victory last Sunday. Think about it. If it wasn’t for a couple of dropped passes in the playoffs, Joe Flacco may have won 3 straight against the Steelers!

With the addition of Torrey Smith and Lee Evans, Flacco finally has some good toys to play with. If the offense can get consistent, I don’t think any one will be able to handle the Ravens. Joe Flacco threw for 314 yds and 1 touchdown against the Steelers.

The Greatest Comeback in Ravens History

The Baltimore Ravens looked horrible in the first half against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals were beating the Ravens by a score of 24 to 6 at halftime. The offense was turning the ball over and even the special teams unit was giving up touchdowns. It didn’t look good at all. Then it happened…

The Ravens offense came to life. The Joe Flacco to Anquan Boldin connection seemed unstoppable in the second half of play. Anquan Boldin ended up with 7 receptions for 145 yards in the game. Ray Rice got 3 touchdowns in the 2nd half. Joe Flacco ended up with 336 yards passing even though he did not throw any touchdown passes.

The Ravens defense held the Cardinals to just 3 points in the second half. The Ravens defense was led by Terrell Suggs who had 9 solo tackles, a sack, and 4 tackles for losses. Paul Kruger was also impressive with 2 sacks for the day.

The final score was Ravens 30 Cardinals 27. Ravens coach John Harbaugh told the team that it was the best comeback win in Ravens history in the locker room after the game.

Ravens Offense Looked Horrible Monday Night

It looks like the Baltimore Ravens will forever be a team known mainly for its defense. The offense did not show up at all against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Ravens offense did not get a first down until the 5:26 mark of the third quarter! Joe Flacco only had 1 yard passing in the first half of play.

The Ravens defense did not give up a touchdown but the Ravens still ended up losing to the Jaguars by a score of 12 to 7. The Ravens gave up first place in the AFC North to our good friends the Pittsburgh Steelers with the loss. The Ravens will play the Arizona Cardinals next.

Same Old Kyle Boller

The more things change, the more things stay the same. Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Kyle Boller got the start yesterday for the Oakland Raiders. What did he do? He threw 3 interceptions , one of which got returned for a touchdown. Kyle Boller played so badly that the Raiders were forced to put in Carson Palmer who wasn’t ready.

Kyle Boller gave me some horrific flashbacks of when he was the Baltimore Ravens quarterback. Kyle Boller makes Joe Flacco look like Tom Brady. For those who wish to give Joe Flacco harsh criticism, think about when we had Kyle Boller as our quarterback and count your blessings.

Ravens Hush Houston Texans 29 to 14

Despite 2 turnovers in the first half, the Baltimore Ravens were still able to dominate the Houston Texans. The Ravens defense held Arian Foster to just 49 yards rushing. Ray Rice rushed for 101 yards on the ground. Anquan Boldin had a great day with 132 yards receiving. Cundiff kicked 5 field goals!

Joe Flacco didn’t have a fantastic day but did make some great throws to keep the chains moving. The living legend Ray Lewis had 8 tackles and a sack today. Overall, it was a good day for the Baltimore Ravens and Ravens fans.

Ravens Defense Too Much for Jets to Handle

The Baltimore Ravens defense was too much for the poor New York Jets to handle Sunday night. Despite a poor performance by the offense, the Ravens defense showed up with their A game. The Ravens defense set the tone early with an Ed Reed blitz that ended up in a forced fumble and a return for touchdown

The defense attacked Mark Sanchez all night and Haloti Ngata hit him so hard on one play that I thought his back would be broken. Joe Flacco didn’t have a good day but the Ravens defense more than made up for it by forcing 3 turnovers that got returned for touchdowns. The Ravens have a bye this week.

Final Score: Ravens 34 Jets 17
