Ravens Have Something to Prove and so do the Texans

Even though the Baltimore Ravens got the victory last week against the Dallas Cowboys, it proved to be costly as Ray Lewis and Ladarius Webb were injured and will be out for the rest of the season. The Ravens defense has given up a huge amount of yards this season on the ground even when these 2 players were healthy. The Ravens defense will be looking to prove that they can stop the run and that they can step up despite the loss of 2 key players on defense. The Ravens offense will be looking to prove that they can continue to carry the team.

The Houston Texans will be looking to bounce back after a devastating loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Texans will be looking to prove that they are Superbowl contenders in the AFC by knocking off the Baltimore Ravens for the first time in the history of their organization. They may also be seeking a little revenge against the Ravens since the Ravens knocked them out of the playffs last season.

This is the matchup that all the analysts are talking about this week and it should be a good game.

Ravens Test Out Road Skills Against Kansas City Chiefs

We all know that the Baltimore Ravens are extemely tough to beat when they play a home going undefeated at home last season. The question is if they can get it done on the road against teams they should beat. The Ravens will get a chance to make a statement today as the take on the Kansas City Chiefs on the road.

Although the Ravens defense is only ranked 23rd, they ae ranked 3rd against the run. This will be a good test today for the Ravens as the Kansas City Chiefs have an outstanding running game.

Ravens Seek Revenge Against Patriots Tonight

Nobody can forget the heartbreaking loss that the Baltimore Ravens suffered against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game last season. Well, tonight the Baltimore Ravens will have the opportunity to get revenge in primetime Sunday Night football. The Ravens will get this golden this opportunity in front of a packed home crowd at M&T Bank Stadium.

Both the Ravens and the Patriots are coming off of losses. The Ravens will try to rebound after a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last week. The Ravens should have won last week but somehow decided to not run the ball with a 10 point halftime lead against the Eagles. The Ravens vs Patriots game will probably be the most anticipated NFL football matchup this week and it should turn out to be a good game.

Billy Cundiff vs Justin Tucker

There have been many famous battles throughout sports history such as Ali vs Frazier in boxing and in the Olympics we had Phelps vs Lochte. The biggest battle going on right now in the Baltimore area right now is the battle between Billy Cundiff and rookie Justin Tucker for the job of being the Baltimore Ravens field goal kicker.

Cundiff had one good year in Baltimore in the 2010 season but is now famous for missing a crucial field goal in last year’s AFC Championship game against the Patriots. Justin Tucker has been real impressive this season and I witnessed him hit a 63 yard field goal at the Ravens practice at M&T Bank stadium earlier this month. In last night’s pre season game he hit a 53 yard field goal and looked great.

Most Ravens fans want Cundiff kicked out of town and with Justin Tucker’s performance so far it may happen. Who do you prefer to get the job Justing Tucker or Billy Cundiff?

Ravens Endure Heartbreaking Loss to Patriots

The Baltimore Ravens have been to the playoffs for 4 straight years with Joe Flacco as our quarterback. Each of those four years has ended with a heartbreaking loss in the playoffs. Including yesterday’s 23 to 20 loss, the Ravens have loss in the AFC Championship game twice in the last four years. I’m not sure which playoff loss hurts the most. I don’t know if it was last year’s collapse to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2nd half or this loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship.

I do know that I am proud of my team. Many people didn’t give the Baltimore Ravens a chance against the Patriots and their powerful offense run by Tom Brady. They did not believe that the Ravens defense could stop Tom Brady from throwing any touchdown passes but they did. Nobody thought that Joe Flacco could out play Tom Brady statistically in this game but he did. Flacco had a 95.4 QB rating while Tom Brady had a low 57.5 QB rating. I mean who thought we would sweep the AFC North Division at the beginning of the season? Who knew that the Ravens would go undefeated at home for the first time in franchise?

In short, this loss was heartbreaking to say the least but there are several things to be proud of this season if you are a Ravens fan.

Who Gets the Blame for Ravens Loss to Seahawks?

I would like to hear your comments on who should get the blame for the Baltimore Ravens loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Here are some of the top nominees:

David Reed (Had 2 kick off return fumbles and idiotic penalty)
Cam Cameron (Questionable play calling passing 52 times in loud stadium on the road. Ray Rice had just 5 carries.)
Joe Flacco (Inaccurate passing, just hitting on 29 out of 52 passes and he threw a very costly interception.)
Billy Cundiff (Missed 2 valuable field goals. Can’t seem to hit any over 50 yards despite strong leg.)
Ravens Defense (Despite holding Seahawks to mostly field goals, the defense could not stop Seahawks from running out clock in final minutes.)

Post your comments!!!

Remember the Ravens Giants Superbowl?

If you are tired of listening to the news about NFL lockout, this may be the perfect time to remember the glory days of Ravens history. Yes, I’m talking about the Raven Giants Superbowl which was Superbowl XXXV. Superbowl 35 was when the Baltimore Ravens demolished the New york Giants by a score of 34 to 7. The Ravens had the greatest defense ever in the history of the NFL that year!

I Need Football!!!

Ok, it has been a while since I last posted. I had to take a break after the playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Like most Ravens fans, I was happy to see them (Pittsburgh Steelers) go down to the Packers in the Superbowl.

Well, there has been so much going on in the off-season and there is is a chance we might not have football if the owners and players don’t come to some sort of agreement. With the economy the way it is and gas prices going sky high, I will definitely need my football fix to relieve stress if nothing else.

I really hope these idiots work it out and end the football strike for the sake of the fans because I am really going to need some football this year!

Steelers vs Packers in Superbowl Today

I will be a Green Bay Packers fan today as I watch Superbowl XLV. Even though I respect the Pittsburgh Steelers and everything they have accomplished, I can’t stand to see them win another Superbowl. Especially, when I feel like it should have been the Baltimore Ravens representing the AFC instead. What can I say? I am a die hard Ravens fan. It should be a good Superbowl game however between two good teams.

Pediction: Packers 27 Steelers 17

Look for Ravens to Overpower the Panthers

The Baltimore Ravens should beat the Carolina Panthers easily today. The Ravens have too many weapons on offense and our defense will have something to prove today after the Falcons game. Another good thing the Ravens have going for them is that they are well rested. The Carolina Panthers only have one win so far this season and they won’t get their second one against the Ravens.
