The Greatest Comeback in Ravens History

The Baltimore Ravens looked horrible in the first half against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals were beating the Ravens by a score of 24 to 6 at halftime. The offense was turning the ball over and even the special teams unit was giving up touchdowns. It didn’t look good at all. Then it happened…

The Ravens offense came to life. The Joe Flacco to Anquan Boldin connection seemed unstoppable in the second half of play. Anquan Boldin ended up with 7 receptions for 145 yards in the game. Ray Rice got 3 touchdowns in the 2nd half. Joe Flacco ended up with 336 yards passing even though he did not throw any touchdown passes.

The Ravens defense held the Cardinals to just 3 points in the second half. The Ravens defense was led by Terrell Suggs who had 9 solo tackles, a sack, and 4 tackles for losses. Paul Kruger was also impressive with 2 sacks for the day.

The final score was Ravens 30 Cardinals 27. Ravens coach John Harbaugh told the team that it was the best comeback win in Ravens history in the locker room after the game.

Ravens Offense Looked Horrible Monday Night

It looks like the Baltimore Ravens will forever be a team known mainly for its defense. The offense did not show up at all against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Ravens offense did not get a first down until the 5:26 mark of the third quarter! Joe Flacco only had 1 yard passing in the first half of play.

The Ravens defense did not give up a touchdown but the Ravens still ended up losing to the Jaguars by a score of 12 to 7. The Ravens gave up first place in the AFC North to our good friends the Pittsburgh Steelers with the loss. The Ravens will play the Arizona Cardinals next.

Same Old Kyle Boller

The more things change, the more things stay the same. Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Kyle Boller got the start yesterday for the Oakland Raiders. What did he do? He threw 3 interceptions , one of which got returned for a touchdown. Kyle Boller played so badly that the Raiders were forced to put in Carson Palmer who wasn’t ready.

Kyle Boller gave me some horrific flashbacks of when he was the Baltimore Ravens quarterback. Kyle Boller makes Joe Flacco look like Tom Brady. For those who wish to give Joe Flacco harsh criticism, think about when we had Kyle Boller as our quarterback and count your blessings.

Ravens Hush Houston Texans 29 to 14

Despite 2 turnovers in the first half, the Baltimore Ravens were still able to dominate the Houston Texans. The Ravens defense held Arian Foster to just 49 yards rushing. Ray Rice rushed for 101 yards on the ground. Anquan Boldin had a great day with 132 yards receiving. Cundiff kicked 5 field goals!

Joe Flacco didn’t have a fantastic day but did make some great throws to keep the chains moving. The living legend Ray Lewis had 8 tackles and a sack today. Overall, it was a good day for the Baltimore Ravens and Ravens fans.

Derrick Mason and Jets Turmoil

After the Baltimore Ravens gave the New Jets a good old fashioned whipping on the gridiron the week before the bye, the Jets organization has been in turmoil. It was reported that Derrick Mason started publicly complaining about cracks in the Jets offense after the loss to the Ravens.

The New York Jets shocked the NFL world this week announcing that Derrick Mason had been traded to the Houston Texans. Derrick Mason, who was the top receiver for the Ravens for several years, is only the 18th wide receiver in NFL history to accumulate over 12,000 yards in receiving.

Here is a good article for more info on the Derrick Mason trade:

Ravens Defense Too Much for Jets to Handle

The Baltimore Ravens defense was too much for the poor New York Jets to handle Sunday night. Despite a poor performance by the offense, the Ravens defense showed up with their A game. The Ravens defense set the tone early with an Ed Reed blitz that ended up in a forced fumble and a return for touchdown

The defense attacked Mark Sanchez all night and Haloti Ngata hit him so hard on one play that I thought his back would be broken. Joe Flacco didn’t have a good day but the Ravens defense more than made up for it by forcing 3 turnovers that got returned for touchdowns. The Ravens have a bye this week.

Final Score: Ravens 34 Jets 17

Rex Ryan & Co. Returning to Baltimore

If the Baltimore Ravens had not collapsed in the 2nd half against the Pittsburgh Steelers in last season’s playoffs, this would have been the AFC Championship Game match up last season. The Baltimore Ravens will take on the Baltimore Jets (I mean the New York Jets) Sunday night. Sorry, the Jets have so many former Baltimore Ravens personnel that I call them the baby Ravens. Sunday night they will return to Baltimore to play their daddies.

The Jet’s fearless leader and former Ravens defensive coordinator, Rex Ryan, will have his team ready to play for sure. Rex Ryan is big on stopping the run and the Jet’s gave up yards galore last week. The last time these 2 teams met the Ravens won a very close game in New York. The is a game that Rex Ryan & Co. really want to win. Expect to see some hard hitting smash mouth football and a very good game.

By the way, Rex Ryan’s book makes a good read. He talks about some of his experiences as a defensive coordinator while he was with the Baltimore Ravens.
